What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?
CBT is a therapeutic approach that integrates cognitive (thought) restructuring and behavior modification techniques; it is the foundation on which the Attacking Anxiety and Depression program was formulated. Essentially, CBT is about reprogramming habits. If you can change the way you think and act, you can to create a better and more balanced life experience.
Cognitive Restructuring:
You will learn to recognize negative thinking patterns that influence feelings and behavior. Typical negative thinking patterns may include:
Distorted concept of self and ability
Pessimistic attitude and assumptions
Limiting beliefs
Negative or scary thoughts
When you recognize that certain thoughts produce unpleasant emotional consequences, and you are given a new, healthier way to think and respond within that same environment, you will be empowered to choose that new way of thinking because it will produce a more pleasant life-experience.
Behavior Modification:
The program will help you focus on changing unhealthy or unwanted behaviors that reinforce our negative thinking patterns. Behavioral strategies are used for coping with a wide range of human behaviors including procrastination, anger, or self-medicating with food, alcohol or other substances.
We leverage CBT-based methodology in our program because it is a tested and proven treatment for anxiety and depression:
There are no dangerous or unpleasant side effects
The long-term effects of CBT treatment are lasting and fulfilling.

I made a lengthy post or reply and I was denied, what happened?
If your post did not show up in the forum right away then your post was either too long, which is very rare, or it timed out while you were typing - which is common. The timer is set for 4 minutes, anything over that is subject to being ‘lost.' We recommend all long posts be initially drafted in Word or Notepad first and then copied/pasted into the forum. There is no way to retrieve a post after being timed out.

What should I do if technical issues prevent me from using the Chat feature?
In order to successfully use chat, the following conditions need to be met:
The user's browser must be able to accept/store persistent cookies.
The user's browser should have the latest version of Flash installed. Not just Flash, but the latest version.
The user's browser should have the latest Javascript. Again, not just Javascript, but the latest version.
The user's internet connection should have access to port 8080.
The user's internet connection should not have a high degree of latency. (Such as the latency that comes with a satellite connection).
The port issue is often missed. If the user is trying to connect from work, it's possible that their IT department has closed port 8080. A home firewall may do the same thing.
If the user is positive that the above conditions are met, we have the following troubleshooting steps that may help:
Clear your Browser Cache
Close then Re Open the Browser
Re-Log into the site and try to log into chat
If the above do not help, Re-Install the Flash client for the browser. This will ensure the latest version is running.
If that doesn't work, try bypassing any firewalls that are set up on the computer.
How do I report someone who is being offensive or verbally abusive?
If you can't watch video make sure that your connection speed is fast enough and that you have an up-to-date version of Flash installed on your computer.
Click here to download flash (Link goes to another website).
